Shannon Owen creates soft sculpture and jewelry from needle-felted and wet-felted wool and often incorporates materials like stone, silicone, glass or acrylic embellishments.

Shannon received her BFA in Metalsmithing & Jewelry from Maine College of Art (MECA) in 2014 and additional training in felting from Arrowmont School of Arts and Craft and the Appalachian Center for Craft in Tennessee.

She currently lives in Boston, MA and works as the Artist Assistant and Social Media Manager of Melle Finelli Studio. Previously, Shannon assisted a sculptural felting course taught by Shana Kohnstamm at Arrowmont in 2016 and plans to again in summer 2018.

Shannon exhibited work in numerous exhibitions over the years. Most recently in Self Composed at Aviary Gallery in Boston in 2018, Embodying Power in Colombo, Sri Lanka, the MECAmade alumni showcase at MECA in 2017.
